Bank of the Valley Breaks Ground at Schuyler Branch Location

The building process is moving along at the site of Bank of the Valley’s future Schuyler Branch location. The winter and spring months were spent clearing trees and debris from the location, as well as working with state and local entities to ensure all elements were in place for the construction phase to begin. Bank of the Valley hosted a formal Ground Breaking Ceremony on Tuesday August 10th.

While the process of putting together the physical structure has been taking shape, Bank of the Valley employees have taken time to connect with members of the Schuyler community. Vice President - Loan Officer, Nolan Samek says, “It’s been wonderful getting to know the people and businesses that make Schuyler the amazing community that it is. I’ve learned much more about the great things that are going on, and the plans for making Schuyler even more successful in the future. I’m excited for Bank of the Valley to be a part of it.”

Plans are on track for a grand opening of the Bank of the Valley – Schuyler Branch in the Summer of 2022. The building will be located on the north end of town, just east of the new Schuyler Elementary School. The new Branch will offer a full line of products and services for individual, agricultural and commercial customers.

Current Bank employees are looking forward to making the transition to the Schuyler Branch location once the building opens. Schuyler native Galen Kehrli says, “With Schuyler’s growth in recent years, I believe Bank of the Valley will be an excellent, viable business addition for the community and surrounding area for many years to come.”

Bank of the Valley most recently opened their sixth Branch location in downtown David City in September 2020. The Bank got its start with their first location in Bellwood in 1984, expanding then to David City in 1996 and Platte Center in 2007. Further growth occurred when the Bank purchased Farmer’s State Bank in Humphrey in July 2016, and then transitioned their Columbus Loan Production facility to a full-service branch in August 2015.
